Environmentally friendly growth in the Norwegian Maritime Industry
In our government declaration Soria Moria II, the Norwegian government emphasized that Norway will pursue an industrial policy that facilitates innovative, knowledge-based and environmentally friendly economic activities. Furthermore we will invest in sectors where the necessary preconditions for economic success are present, i.e. natural resources, knowhow, such as the maritime sector. In 2007 the government adopted a national strategy for environmental friendly growth in the maritime industry. This document is still the main guide for Norway’s maritime policy.

Ship of the Year 2010 – SKANDI AKER
The subsea service vessel SKANDI AKER, owned by the Norwegian company DOFCON ASA and built at STX Norway Offshore AS – Søviknes, was today declared Ship of the Year 2010 by the Norwegian State Secretary Rikke Lind at the SMM 2010 trade show in Hamburg. Read more….
